What is Chlorella

Chlorella is one of the earth’s oldest life forms and has been in existence for more than 2.5 billion years since the pre-Cambrian period, the earth’s longest period of history. However, the genetic makeup of this super food has remained remarkably unchanged until today. Chlorella is a single-celled, freshwater micro algae packed with the same unique nutritional properties as over 2.5 billion years ago. It is widely distributed throughout the earth’s biosphere. Chlorella was discovered in 1890 by a Dutch biologist, Martinus Beyerinck. The plant was found to contain so many nutritional properties that it immediately gained interests from scientists.

The use of Chlorella in drinks was inspired by the first medical studies on Chlorella, which showed that Chlorella stimulated the growth of Lactobacilli, a type of good bacteria that aids digestion. People who regularly consumed foods containing Chlorella also reported beneficial effects on their health.

These observations in turn, led to further medical experiments.

How is Chlorella Cultivated?

Chlorella is cultivated either outdoors in fresh water ponds or indoors under strictly controlled conditions using the Heterotrophic Tank Cultivation system developed in 1964 by Dr Minoru Shirota, founder of Yakult Japan.
Indoor cultivated Chlorella tastes and digests better
Indoor cultivated Chlorella tastes better and is more digestible than outdoor-cultivated chlorella. Chlorella grown outdoors in open ponds is subject to harsh weather elements and environmental contaminants.

Abeille d’Or Chlorella grown using the Heterotrophic Tank Cultivation method is pollution and contaminant-free because it is cultivated inside a sterilized sealed tank. Replacing sunlight are acetic acid and glucose solution which the green super food needs for photosynthesis. Temperature is maintained at about 35 degrees Celsius and pH level at 6 to 7, ideal conditions for perfect growth of this super food.
Abeille d’Or Chlorella-Scientifically Researched and Tested
Abeille d’Or Chlorellabelongs to a special Chlorella Regularis strain. Ten years of scientific research has gone into producing this superior quality product.
